Sean Kingston Faces 10 Charges In Florida After Arrest In California

Sean Kingston, the 34-year-old singer known for his hit “Beautiful Girls,” is in serious legal trouble. Authorities arrested him on May 23 in California, just hours after his mother, Janice Turner, was detained in Florida. The arrest followed a warrant issued after a raid at a mansion he rented in Florida.

Ver Ver Entertainment filed a lawsuit in February, accusing Sean of not paying for items purchased from them. Now, the details of his charges are clear.

Officials charged Sean Kingston with ten counts, including grand theft from a luxury car retailer, defrauding a jeweler for $480,000, identity fraud, issuing faulty checks, and violating probation. His mother also faces eight counts related to grand theft and jewelry fraud but has posted bail and is no longer in custody.

Sean remains in jail in San Bernardino County without bail. He is expected to be extradited to Florida after a court hearing. His lawyer, Robert Rosenblatt, stated that they were arranging for Sean’s voluntary return to Florida and plan to challenge the charges in court. They argue that this is a civil matter, not a criminal one.
