Lorretta Boakyewaa Acheampong wins 2024 Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge in Sekyere East

Lorretta Boakyewaa Acheampong, a 13-year-old student from Asokore DA Trinity, has won the 2024 Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge in the Sekyere East District. This event took place at Effisco Assembly Hall filled with important people like the District Director of Education, school heads, teachers, parents, and students.

About the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge (OCRC)

The OCRC was started in 2021 by the Otumfuo Education Foundation. Its goal is to help junior high school students improve their reading skills in both Twi and English. The competition has three stages: community-level, knockout, and the grand finale.

Lorretta’s excellent reading skills and quick thinking made her stand out from the other participants. Her performance was a joy to watch for everyone present.

What’s Next for Lorretta?

In September 2024, Lorretta will represent the Sekyere East District in the knockout stage of the competition. This event will be held at the famous Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi. Everyone is excited to see how she will do in the next round.
