General Hospital Actor Johnny Wactor Tragically Killed at 37

We have heartbreaking news to share about General Hospital star Johnny Wactor. The beloved TV actor, aged 37, was shot and killed early Saturday morning (May 26) in downtown Los Angeles.

Wactor, who appeared in almost 200 episodes of the popular American series, was with a colleague when three men attempted to steal his catalytic converter. Despite not resisting, he was shot by the thieves who then fled the scene.

Paramedics rushed Wactor to the hospital just after 3am PT, but he was sadly pronounced dead on arrival. His mother, Scarlett, confirmed the tragic news to TMZ. She remains hopeful that the suspects will soon be caught.

In addition to his role as Brando Corbin on General Hospital, Wactor also appeared in shows like Westworld, NCIS, Criminal Minds, and The OA. His portrayal of Brando, a character married to drug addict Sasha Corbin, made him a household name. He played Brando from 2020 until 2022, when the character was written out of the show.

Wactor is survived by his mother and two younger brothers, Lance and Grant. Fans and co-stars have expressed their deep sorrow and shock over his untimely death. On social media, heartfelt messages poured in. One fan wrote, “Rest peacefully, Johnny. Such a terrible thing. Prayers to his family.” Another shared, “May he Rest in Peace. I know my mom is going to be sad when she reads this. She still watches GH.”

Wactor’s death is part of a series of losses for the General Hospital family. Recently, the show also mourned the deaths of Beth Peters, who played Mrs. Whitaker, and Terry Brock actress Robyn Bernard.
